Forward The Light Brigade

The poem tells a story of 600 men going into battle and risking their life’s by riding into the “valley of death” for half a league. They were following a command to attack the enemy forces that had been commandeered their guns. Throughout the poem Tennyson calls attention to their valor and warfare.
“The Charge of the Light Brigade”, “celebrates an act of bravery and sacrifice a suicidal cavalry charge during the Crimean war.” Six weeks later Tennyson’s poem argues how the soldiers were o willing to sacrifice their lives. Because the soldiers sacrificed their lives we now think of them as heroes
Warfare is the theme here. Ultimately, "The Charge of the Light Brigade" is a poem about a battle. It spends a lot of time describing the confusion, the terror, the bloodshed, and, yes, also the heroism and excitement of armed combat. “Half a league, half a league, half a league onward, all in the valley of Death Rode the six hundred. “Forward, the Light Brigade!
