they have been freed.
Brutus says that death is a benefit and that they did
Caesar a favor by killing him, because that means he
had less time to worry about dying. Then he asks
everyone to bathe their hands and swords in Caesar's
blood so that they can walk to the marketplace, crying,
"Peace, freedom and liberty!"
Brutus tells them they did Caesar a favor by killing him,
and then he says, "Let's all cry 'peace, freedom and
liberty!"

The summary of this passage paints Brutus as the main antagonist who hypocritically kills Caeser and then basks in his blood.

This is one of the most memorable passages from Julius Ceaser play which is happening when the Ceaser is killed and Antonio is invited to give a speech on the eve of the assassination.

Instead of supporting the assailants he resorts to say that they are hypocritical murders and lays the blame mostly on Brutus who was a friend of Ceaser and now has killed him.

The graphic imagery conveys the magnitude of that betrayal and how Antonio feels that Brutus is responsible for the ruin of the city and his ruin of their friendship.
