"I Am Very Real" is a letter Kurt Vonnegut wrote to the head of the Drake High School board regarding school's burning of controversial books, including one of Kurt's.

Basically, Vonnegut is strongly opposing the idea of destroying books, especially book being proclaimed immoral and controversial without even having been read. Through this problem, he expresses his concern for much greater issue - disturbing the free flow of ideas by destroying books.
