Hurry!! It's only a paragraph:

The smell was awful. The putrid odor of the smoldering wood stayed in my memory for weeks, and so did the look of agony on Ashley's face as she watched her home burn down to a pile of rubble and ash. She had been my best friend since fifth grade. One morning, exhausted and dreading the day, I went to class. A shy girl from the student council came to my desk and asked if I wanted to be on the committee working to find ways to help Ashley's family recover from their loss.

Which conclusion is BEST supported by the details in this narrative paragraph?

A) Surely this girl meant well, but I wished she would just leave me alone forever.
B) Filled with emotion, I was unable to speak, but I nodded my head enthusiastically.
C) "Thank you for asking. I have several ideas to contribute," I answered enthusiastically.
D) I knew it would be a lot of work, but it was the least that I could do for such a nice girl.
