How do I write an introduction for an essay that I have to compare and contrast specific topics of a movie and a book?

Outline the main question regarding the two subjects, so you'll answer it with the thesis statement and the arguments that follow. Give some background on the subjects you're going to compare. Wrap up the introduction with a concise thesis statement. Ideally, the thesis statement should be an overview of the essay.
