What can be good rebuttals for my counterarguments for a persuasive essay about banning animal testing. These are my arguments and the respective counterarguments:

Pro arguments:

• There exist alternative testing methods that replace the need for animals.

• Animals are very different from humans and as a result make poor test subjects.

• Animal testing is cruel and inhumane.

• Violations of the Animal Welfare Act have been recorded several times and many animals have been found severely abused in research laboratories.

Con Arguments:

• Animal testing has helped in finding many life-saving cures and treatments.

• Animals must be used to prevent the use of human subjects.

• Animals do not have rights, thus it is acceptable to experiment on them.

• Animal research is highly regulated, with laws in place to protect animals from mistreatment.
