Excerpt from Mrs. Bullfrog
Nathaniel Hawthorne

4 The same morning that Mrs. Bullfrog and I came together as a unit, we took two seats in the stage-coach and began our journey towards my place of business. There being no other passengers, we were as much alone and as free to give vent to our raptures as if I had hired a hack for the matrimonial jaunt.
The author is considering changing sentence 1 of paragraph 4 to read:

The same morning that Mrs. Bullfrog and I came together and got hitched, me and her took two seats in the stage coach and began our journey towards my place of business.

The proposed revision would not be good because it
A) changes the point of view of the passage.
B) changes the chronological order of events.
C) puts too much emphasis on the fact that they got married.
D) adds informal language that is inconsistent with the passage.
