According to legend, the peacock did not always have such beautiful feathers. he was just an average bird who wanted to stand out. when the peacock's wish was granted and he got his new feathers, he visited his old friends. the pheasant, the swan, and the heron all admitted that the peacock was by far the most beautiful. on his way home, the peacock saw an eagle soaring overhead, as he used to do. lifting his wings, the peacock tried to rise, but the weight of his new feathers held him down. he knew then that he would no longer fly up to greet the morning but instead walk the ground like a common beast. what lesson can be learned from this story? there is always someone less fortunate than you. avoid taking credit for something you did not do. do not give up freedom for something less important. the most precious things in life cannot be bought.
