Becoming Kareem is an autobiographical novel written by Kareem Abdul Jabbar himself. In this novel Kareem describes his childhood days and his situations he faced after being an adult.

If we talk about the theme, the theme if this novel is based very much on racism, and not letting anything define you. He mentions that how he’ve faced racism in his life, and through his example and example of others, he’s trying convince people that appearance are deception.

One simply can’t judge other person based on his appearance or looks. He states that before we do so, it’s better to get to known a person well and then based opinions regarding the same.
