How do the similes that the speaker uses throughout the poem contribute to the negative tone of deferred
poem: does it dry up like a raisin? or fester*like a sore- and then run does it stink like rotten meat or crust and sugar over- like a syrupy sweet?
maybe it just says like a heavy load or does it explode? * fester- become worse
