Seventy percent of earth's surface is covered with water in the form of oceans and seas. yet several animals and even humans face difficulty in finding drinking water. this is because water in the seas and oceans is salty and unfit for drinking. water that can be used for drinking is called freshwater. unlike sea water, freshwater is sweet. freshwater is usually found in lakes, ponds, rivers, and streams. lakes and ponds are water bodies surrounded by land. rain water fills these lakes and ponds and stores freshwater. rain is one of the most important sources of fresh water. water running down mountain slopes in the form of waterfalls is also a source of freshwater. these waterfalls or runoffs form rivers and streams. since freshwater is so precious and useful, people have found new and unusual ways of acquiring it. in places with a cool climate, people use a device called an atmospheric water generator. this device extract water from humid or moist air. it converts the moisture in the air to water.

In act v of a midsummer night's dream, quince presents the prologue for “pyramus and thisbe.” when he finishes, hippolyta comments: indeed he hath played on his prologue like a child on a recorder—a sound, but not in government. which tone does the simile “played on his prologue like a child on a recorder” create? it creates a sad, wistful tone by comparing quince’s performance to a beautiful tune. it creates a surprised tone by comparing quince’s performance to an eloquent speech by a government official. it creates a relaxed tone by comparing quince’s performance to lovely recorder music. it creates a humorous tone by comparing quince’s performance to a child playing an instrument badly.
