If YOU read it again in your head, do you pause between the two lines. I don't, so that would mean C is not an option for me. But we may read differently, so I suggest trying that on your own. I also don't think that it strengthens the connection between the two lines. I feel that it makes it light and wobbly. Almost whimsical. So D is not an option.
