today was not a good day. i was nervous about my upcoming appointment with the dentist this afternoon. i already dreaded it, but to make it worse, mom had to go see aunt janice for some emergency. that meant i was stuck with my sister, pat. i knew she was going to enjoy my pain.
on the way, pat kept teasing me about how painful the whole thing was going to be. i ignored her. our dentist, dr. parks, is a really nice person. but i hate it when he sticks those metal hooks in my mouth and drills a hole in my teeth. i know it's his job but i hate it anyway.
when we got back home, pat ordered my favorite pizza: california style with parmesan and double meat. she knew i couldn't eat it. i went to my room and read the book that jackie gave me.
i felt a bit better by dinnertime. after dinner, dad asked me to mow the lawn tomorrow. while he said it, pat kept teasing me from behind his back. but then he said that pat should clean the attic, and her face fell. that made my day, at least what was left of it.
