The ending -ed we use to construct past tense can be pronounced in three different ways:

If the verb base ends with a voiceless sound (those are p, f, k, s, sh, ch, th), the -ed ending is pronounced as /t/. Example: worked is pronounced as /wɜːkt/If the verb base ends with a voiced sound (b, v, g, z, j, th, l, m, n, r), we pronounce -ed as /d/.
