Dynamic character is one whose personality changes over the course of the story as a result of his/her experiences in the story.

Static character is opposite of dynamic character i.e. it does not change personally or emotionally over the course of the story.

In the start of the story the Giant was very selfish and did not let any children and people enter his garden. But in the end we find him helping a little child climb a tree and allowing other children play in the garden. He was really very sorry for what he had done.

These changes in Giant's personality make him a dynamic character.
