the average american reads about 15 books every year. how do people choose the books they want to read? some students just read whatever their teacher assigns. others read whatever their friends recommend. when you’re looking for a good book to read, you should remember the acronym p. i.c. k. (purpose, interest, comprehension, knowledge). find a book that meets your purpose for reading, keeps you interested, is appropriate for your reading level, and doesn’t have too many words that you don’t know.
