They weren't allowed to hold any political office in the society nor given the right to vote, they weren't given marriage opportunity like men and more so, they have limited access to educational opportunities. The debate about men's liberty and rights were given priority during the revolution, some women questioned this authorities and hence asked for their positions in American society. Many believed that the major responsibility of women is to raise their children educationally, morally. This led to the argument of some women on certain legal and economic rights and also to pursue their careers professionally. The revolution gave voice to the women, and hence, opened lots of opportunity for them, as they're permitted to do work outside their home and also fight for their rights in public. Based on the racial and class division that existed, not all women were permitted to rise to this manner. The eight known women didn't produce a collective movement for women's rights, but their importance lies in future progress. Therefore, there's difference in their achievements, as each demonstrated through their works that women possessed a will of their own.
