Daisy chooses to marry Tom because of the money. Her decision reflects that she was a superficial, immature and egoist young girl, who prefers and easy life with a rich man to live in comfort and glamour, even if the love between them is not safe or true. She was unthoughtful and didn't care about  anyone feelings
