First, lets have a little background on the novel. "The Great Gatsby" is a novel that was written by F. Scott Fitzgerald and which was published in 1925. It narrates the story behind Jay Gatsby, a mysterious, and barely known billionaire who dedicates his life to throwing extravagant parties, and living in an almost surreal extravagant world. Although he seldom presents himself to the public during parties and special ocassions, when he does, he shows a side of himself that is always clear to the reader, is not always as it seems. However, Gatsby seems to believe in that side of himself that he shows to the world.

In the end, Gatsby becomes so involved with his rich, luxurious, extravagant, mysterious, persona, that he believes in that part of himself with all of his heart, to the very end of his life, under the hands of George.

Now, is it a lie if you believe that you are someone, and you do so with all your heart, I think that throughout the novel there is always this perception that somehow, deep down, Gatsby did not truly believe that he was the person that he showed to the world. The proof is that he seldom did; he would through lavish parties, but he would seldom show himself. He keeps this sense of mystery around him, as if there was something from himself that he wanted to hide, but that he could cover from the world through the dazzling effects of his oppulence and money. So I believe that even if Gatsby tried to show to the world that he really believed in the person he portrayed, as the real one, in the end, it was still a lie. And the saddest part is that this comes to be evident when no one, absolutely no one, attends Gatsby´s funeral despite the fact that when he was alive, people would flock to his parties like moths to a flame.

the author is showing that it is the insatisfaction of basic needs that brings about the protests such as the strikes.if workers do not earn enough to buy food and feed their families and themselves in order to continue working, what is the use of working? besides, another message from the author is that of the owners of factories should be worried about ensuring their furure by having a second and third generation of workers in their industries.if they do not hear the workers demands, they will not have any more workers to make their pockets full.
