1. what are the character’s main traits? what evidence in the text shows these traits?
2. is the character the protagonist or the antagonist? what details in the text show the character in that role?
3. is the character flat or complex? how does the character show complexity or flatness in the story?
4. does the character change during the story? explain, supporting your answer with evidence from the text.
part 2 write a two-paragraph analysis of the character you chose. keep the story and your notes in front of you to remind you of the points you want to analyze and the evidence for them. describe the following: • the character’s traits • whether the character is the protagonist or the antagonist • whether the character is complex or flat • whether the character changes, and if so, how cite details from the story to support all your ideas. don’t forget to state the story’s title, the author’s name, and the name of the character in your introduction.
