Appreciative listening is that way of listening to something or information which involves active participation of an individual where the person searches   some certain auditory part or information that this person appreciates or likes personally. Appreciative listening can also be practiced if it leads to the fulfillment of a goal.

It involves the listening behavior of listening to the wants and needs of a person that is appreciated by that person. For example: listening to poetry that the person enjoys, people he/she likes to listen to because of the different choices  of the listeners depending on different choices of different individuals.
