Someone who is a quadriplegic, who has suffered a spinal cord injury, would need to use a straw since they lose the use of their arms. this would also include muscular dystrophy and diseases like parkinson’s, where the loss of muscle control and tremors require a straw. this is one of the reasons that people with disabilities are appealing the plastic straw bans, since paper straws dissolve too easy after a period of time in liquid.
