It was summer break. kyle was excited to spend his vacation with his favorite cousin, john, at their grandparentsā€™ house. but when he got there, kyle learned that john couldnā€™t come because he had to attend a school camp. though disappointed, kyle reluctantly agreed to stay with his grandparents. kyle didnā€™t know what to do as he wandered around his grandparentsā€™ property. but one day, he heard the sound of laughter near the pond. as he got closer, he spotted a boy trying to fish. kyle introduced himself to the boy, whose name was simon, and asked him what he was doing. simon replied that he was using his fatherā€™s old fishing gear to practice. excited by the possibility of fishing for the first time, kyle joined simon. soon kyle and simon began spending the days together, trying new activities and exploring unknown places. at the end of the summer, although kyle still missed john, he had a new friend who made his stay fun. kyle looked forward to seeing simon on his next summer break. a. making new friends is difficult. b. friendship can bloom where you least expect it. c. curiosity never goes unrewarded. d. treat others the way you want to be treated.
