How does survivor guilt reflect one’s mortality and values?

In a way other than feeling guilty obviously, from a personal experience they want to help as much as they can but they can never help enough because that’s their mentality. They become a doormat and feel obligated to help everyone in their sight good or bad just to find a sense of relief but that relief never comes. Depression also is a big factor to this problem as well as anxiety.
