Iwanted to take joe carp and frank reilly out to lunch to celebrate, but joe said he had to buy some things for his wife, and frank said he was meeting his cousin for lunch. i guess it'll take a little time for them to get used to the changes in me. everybody seems to be frightened of me. when i went over to amos borg and tapped him, he jumped up in the air.

people don't talk to me much anymore or kid around the way they used to. it makes the job kind of lonely.

Read the excerpt from "the most dangerous game." a man, who had been hiding in the curtains of the bed, was standing there. "rainsford! " screamed the general. "how in god's name did you get here? " "swam," said rainsford. "i found it quicker than walking through the jungle." the general sucked in his breath and smiled. "i congratulate you," he said. "you have won the game." rainsford did not smile. "i am still a beast at bay," he said, in a low, hoarse voice. "get ready, general zaroff." the general made one of his deepest bows. "i see," he said. "splendid! one of us is to furnish a repast for the hounds. the other will sleep in this very excellent bed. on guard, rainsford." . . he had never slept in a better bed, rainsford decided. adrian is writing an essay about "the most dangerous game.” which detail from the excerpt best supports his idea that rainsford is unchanged and still feels that the hunter is justified in killing the hunted? a man, who had been hiding in the curtains of the bed, was standing there.
