In " to kill a mockingbird", what did scout decide about school

In "To Kill a Mockingbird," Scout decides that she will not attend school anymore. She has had a terrible first day, and she feels she will never learn anything of value there. Scout is now expected to behave differently, and to learn all the social rules that adults value. However, she does no see the purpose in this. Moreover, she cannot get along with Miss Caroline, her professor, who makes her feel guilty about being educated. Therefore, she tells Atticus that she feels education is unnecessary. Atticus tells her that it is the law that she should attend school, but he promises to keep reading to her to compensate.
