my teacher said "so, this is supposed to be a story that shows a conversation between lady macbeth and macbeth as they prepare to attend the funeral. however, there is very little dialogue. this feels like everything lady macbeth would be thinking inside her head, which is okay to include. but the main part of this assignment is to show the interaction she has with her husband. also, be careful of your point of view. in the beginning, you write that lady macbeth entered the room. if she is telling the story, it should be "i entered the room.." lastly, make sure to add descriptive details. you reader should be able to picture what is going on in your story. let me know if you have any questions. what i have written is
banquo has been murdered; discussions and suspicions regarding his death can be heard throughout the castle. write a narrative that tells a story about what you think transpires between macbeth and lady macbeth as they prepare to attend banquo’s funeral.
lady macbeth entered the room and begins to to talk about how macbeth is seeing ghosts. macbeth is showing his guilt. i was unaware of what to say or even how to start a conversation. whispers everywhere in the air because banquo was murdered. i knew my husband did it. i knew i couldn't say anything. it was driving me crazy, slowly.
my beating heart and shaking hands, a thousand thoughts running through my brain, what do i do? what do i do? i hear voices in my head and they're getting worse. i hear someone whisper about my sleepwalking issues that have been occurring recently. i shake my head and walk away.
i begin to think of ways to cover up the murder before they start to question king duncans death too. i cannot go down, nor can my husband. i think i will hide the weapon and show my sorrow, maybe then, i wont be caught. i try to clear my head of these thoughts, i begin to get ready to attend the funeral. i cannot and will not show no signs of weakness, i am strong i say to myself. i am brave. i have power. i'm in control. off i go.
my poor husband is going crazy, i am too. i have nobody to talk to. i try to scrub my hands clean but i am still impure. covered with red, only i can see. the voices aren't only in my head. macbeth sees banquo's ghost. i'm not alone, i tell myself. i am not alone. i carry my head high filled with pride, i hear the bickering and the remarks of people in the crowd, macbeth is focused on the crown, i brush it off when a guy yelled "i bet you're the reason why banquo is dead, all because of your selfishness", i knew deep down he was right. he wasn't anyone in power, who was he to determine who i was. nobody. "he is no one". i hurry away.
