Find the following phrases in sentences used in the following paragraph. - compound sentences - complex sentences - compound-complex sentences - adjective clauses - adverb clauses - noun clauses - past participial phrases - present participial phrases - gerunds - infinitives - appositive every family celebrates and enjoys christmas in different ways; however, my family is a bit crazy and loud, so all of our celebrations/get-togethers are wild. the holiday season is essential to my family for so many reasons. the birth of jesus and going to a special church service on christmas eve is one part, but we also have so many traditions that go along with that. this year, in particular, was so important, because it was my sweet sixteenth! my family is italian, so we eat traditional food, and celebrate for every birthday in the family. but, along with my birthday; is my grandma’s, grandpa’s and cousins; all two days apart from each other! mine is on the fourteenth, my grandpa's is on the twelfth, my grandma's is on the sixteen, and my cousin’s on the eighteenth. so december is a massive month for my family and i. aside from birthdays, etc., you can’t have christmas without decorations! my mom and grandma spend days decorating the house for the holidays; we put poinsettias outside and around the house, we have a giant tree in our living room, and my mom lights candles that are holiday scented, to get the house to smell nice. scents like gingerbread. cranberry, pine tree, and much more! my favorite is the hot chocolate candle i light inside my room. however, my family doesn’t stop there with the decorations—we can’t forget about our dogs! the two girls wear cute christmas dresses, and the two boys wear traditional “ugly christmas sweaters”; surprisingly they don’t mind wear accessories, one of the girls, lola, loves to prance around in her red dress. even with the decorations, and the overall holiday spirit, you can’t have christmas without a feast! my uncle makes his famous holiday ham, that cooks for five hours until it’s tender, along with this; we also have a ton of side dishes…in total, enough to feed the whole of florida! in conclusion, the holidays at my house, only come around once a year for an excellent reason.
