Atticus is not upset that mrs dubose calls him foul names behind his back. to scout, he explains , " it's never an insult to be called what somebody thinks is a bad name. it shows you how poor that person is, it doesn't hurt you". explain his meaning. do you agree or disagree with him? why? finally, give a real-world example from your life to illustrate your point.

What Atticus means in this statement is that when someone uses fould words or offends someone else, it indicates that the person is rude, disrespectful or mean. Therefore, it allows you to learn a lot about the speaker in question. However, it says little about the person being addressed, because the words can only affect them if they allow them to do so.

An example of everyday life can be when people tell you that it is ridiculous for you to try out something new. When someone says this, it shows that they are prejudiced, small-minded or fearful, and that they want to affect you. However, if you try new things anyway, then the words do not affect you and you are not allowing them to have any impact over you. The words can only hurt you if you allow them to do so.

the excerpt from chapter 2 of "animal farm", by george orwell that is an example of foreshadowing is "these three (snowball, napoleon, and squealer) had elaborated old major's teachings into a complete system of thought to which they gave the name of animalism." animal farm is an allegory of how czarist russia developed into communist russia with all its corruption. old major's teachings represent marx's theories turned into communism, animalism, by the three pigs. this foreshadows the oppression and corruption that will follow this revolt.

the present continuous is a verb tense which is mainly used to indicates that an action is in progress at the moment of speaking.  

it is formed using: person + verb to be (am/is/are) +verb + - ing form  

example: i am studying at this moment .

in addition, the present continuous is also used in order to express things that will or will not happen in the near future.

example: i am having dinner with some friends tonight.

the speaker sometimes   uses it   to express that an action is repeated and it causes irritation on the part of the speaker

example: my sister is constantly complaining about everything.
