Read the excerpt from poe’s "the fall of the house of usher." no sooner had these syllable passed my lips, than -- as if a shield of brass had indeed, at the moment, fallen heavily upon a floor of silver -- i became aware of a distinct, hollow, metallic, and clangorous, yet apparently muffled reverberation. completely unnerved, i leaped to my feet; but the measured rocking movement of usher was undisturbed. which word from this excerpt could be used to argue that the narrator is unreliable?

The word "unnerved" would suggest that the narrator's mind is disturbed, particularly since Usher does not seem to have heard the metallic sound. However, at the end, the reader finds out that Usher has known all along that Madeline was not really dead, that she would open the metal doors of the crypt (hence the hollow, clangorous, metallic sound) and walk again into his room.

 C “Unnerved” suggests the narrator’s nervousness. i just took the test

    prior to dee leaving home, the everyday objects in her household were just that- everyday objects. she took no special notice of any of them. however, once she returns home, all of these objects represent great culture significance to her. she is incredibly enthused about how great the wooden benches and old quilts are because she thinks it is in-style to be in touch with her own culture.

remember always that germany and italy, regardless of any formal declaration of war, consider themselves at war with the united states at this moment just as much as they consider themselves at war with britain or russia. and germany puts all the other republics of the americas into the same category of enemies. the people of our sister republics of this hemisphere can be honored by that fact.  

the true goal we seek is far above and beyond the ugly field of battle. when we resort to force, as now we must, we are determined that this force shall be directed toward ultimate good as well as against immediate evil. we americans are not destroyers — we are builders.
