How are independent clauses and dependent clauses different?

A dependent clause is a group of words that also contains a subject and a verb, but it is not a complete thought a dependent clause cannot stand on its own as a sentence; it is dependent on being attached to an independent clause to form a sentence.

answer: a lonely woodcutter comes by and decides to chop down the tree, while chopping, connor murphy took a nap next to the tree. waking up from the sound of chopping, he notices the tree falling on him. unable to escape, connor get hit and dies. this was the last of him.
