So a topic that you can do is maybe Number of Students who graduate in high school that moves onto college. That is a pretty general topic but you will have to do some research to be able to complete it. And your audience can be well high school seniors.  If you don't want to do research you can always pick a topic that you are already familiar with like bullying or suicides in schools. Those are really great topics to write an essay for.
