the reader can tell that the narrator believed in more traditional values then her sister because she values the things that are important and valued to their family . for example, the narrator wants her parents to be cared for and treated kindly while her sister never took them into consideration. then the only thing, yuchin , the narrator's sister does is borrow money and spend it, unlike the narrator who saves it.   also, the younger sister wants a car she does not need and the narrator tries to talk her out of it but she does not understand. it is clear to see the two sisters are complete opposites and the narrator is the one who believes in traditional values.
