For the following beam assume concrete of compressive strength of 4,000 psi and density of 150 lbs/ft3 and reinforcing steel bars with yield strength of 75 ksi to a. examine if it cracks under its self weight b. if not, estimate the maximum load P, the beam can carry without cracking. c. If yes, estimate the minimum counteracting load (support) that needs to be provided in the middle of the span so that the beam does not crack.
