There is a cantilever beam with a rectangular cross-section, loaded with uniformly distributed loading. As a result of this loading, considerable shear forces develop within the beam. The width of the beam is 120cm, while the height of the beam is 50cm. If you are required to design the beam against shear, would you use the shear formula? Explain the reason for your answer with 3 sentences, maximum.
