A regenerative gas turbine power plant is shown in figure. Air
enters the compressor at 1 bar, 27°C with a mass flow rate of 0.562
kg/s and is compressed to 4 bar. The isentropic efficiency of the compressor is 80%, and the regenerator effectiveness is 90%. The
pressure drop in the combustion chamber is 0.15 bars as well as in
the regenerator is also 0.15 bars. All the power developed by the
high-pressure turbine is used to run the compressor. The lowpressure
turbine provides the net power output. Each turbine has an isentropic
efficiency of 87% and the temperature at the inlet to the high-pressure
turbine is 1200 K. Draw the T-S diagram and determine the net power
output, in kW, the thermal efficiency and the temperature of the air at
states 2, 3, 5, 6, and 7, in K.
