You are a plant engineer, working at a manufacturing facility with a dedicated powerhouse. Your boss is under stress from management to increase the efficiency of electricity generation at your plant (simple Rankine cycle) by 1 percentage point (eg, 32% to 33% efficiency). Your boss told you that the facility does not have cash on hand to make any investment in regenerators, etc., but she heard that there are three straightforward (more or less) operational changes that can be made to the T & P operating points of your system that will increase efficiency. She has asked you to prepare a short summary that she can use for decision making purposes, i. e., she wants you to prove that these changes will benefit the operation of the facility. The report should include the following: 3 independent tables that demonstrate the relationship between the three items below and Qboiler, Qcondenser, Wturbine, ncycle and XTO (quality at turbine outlet). From past experience with your boss, you think a table that consists of at least 4 well-chosen data points will be sufficient. (So, 3 tables, each with 5 rows and 4 columns-see below).
a. TSH for the range [565.6 °C to 621.1 ℃
b. Pboiler for the range [16.5 to 24.1 MPa]
c. Pcondenser for the range
[10 to 5 kPa] Tsh(°C) = 565.6 | Tsh(°C) = 580 | Tsh("C) : 600 | Tsh(*C) = 621.1 boiler ondenser Wturbine η cycle XTO
