After learning all about the long and complex journey that a seed takes to go from the field to storage (or even to the dinner table) you are going to take all of this newfound knowledge to create a visual representation of this journey! Start by reviewing the journey that a seed goes on from field to storage and make a list highlighting all of the key stops along this journey. Next, either on paper by hand or digitally, you will create a drawing of some kind of winding road
it does not need to be a magnificent work of art; it only needs to express the idea of a winding road for metaphorical purposes. If you do decide to do this digitally, you may need to use several slides or several pages on whatever program you use to make the “road” long enough to include all of the steps along a seed’s journey. Once you have drawn your “road,” either digitally or by hand, you will be adding facts, info, and images to make a mural-type, visually informative illustration of the road a seed takes! For each step along a seeds journey, you will need to include a brief description, any correlating facts, and an image. You should space out the steps appropriately along the road and make sure they go in the correct order. Write START at the place on your road where a seeds journey begins and END where it ends to make sure that this is clear. Feel free to infuse this activity with your own creativity in whatever way you see fit—just make sure that all of the information is there. A couple of “winding road” examples:
