Calculate the probability of an event in the prescribed experiment using the classical approach (theoretical for equally likely outcomes) and verify the result by frequency approach (Monte Carlo simulation). In addition, we will perform the same approaches for computing an event of conditional probability. Experiment description: Suppose there are two boxes; in box 1 there are 3 times more green balls than red balls, and in box 2 there are 5 red balls and 8 green ones. We choose one of the boxes at random (that is P(B1) = P(B2) = 0.5), and then 3 balls are randomly taken from that box with replacement. Notice that the actual number of colored balls in box 1 is not given, which causes no problem since the drawings are done with replacement.

Aloaded platform of total mass 500 kg is supported by a dashpot and by a set of springs of effective stiffness 72 kn/m. it is observed that when the platform is depressed through a distance x = 12.5 cm below its equilibrium position and then released without any initial velocity; it reaches its equilibrium position in the shortest possible time without overshoot. find the position and velocity of the loaded platform 0.10 sec. after its release. if a further load of 400 kg is added to the platform, find, i) the frequency of damped vibrations, and i) the amplitude of vibration after 2 complete oscillations, given that the initial amplitude is 15 cm.
