A steam turbine is used to generate electricity at a pulp and paper manufacturing plant. Superheated steam at 10 MPa and 780 K enters the turbine with a mass flow rate of 38.7 kg/sec. The steam exits the turbine at 318 K with a quality of 0.88. The turbine operation can be assumed to be adiabatic, and the changes in both the kinetic and potential energies of the entering and exiting steam are negligible.
