1. A metal sphere 1 cm in diameter is suspended by a fine wire at the center of a lab furnace with inside wall at 700 K. Helium at 350K and 1.1 ba pressure is blown through the furnace at 5 m/s. Emittance of the alloy is 0.40 and the wall of the furnace can be assumed to be black. Calculate steady state temperature of the sphere. (Hint: it is necessary to guess the surface temperature in order to determine the properties of gas to be used. Use iteration if necessary).
