1. if the pressure at inlet to the pipe was measured to be p1 = 745 kn/m2 , and at exit to be p2 = 97 kn/m2 , calculate the flow rate q if: i. the pipe was horizontal ii. the pipe was inclined upwards by 15o iii. the pipe was inclined downwards by 15o you may assume that the flow in all three cases was laminar. check, by calculating the resulting reynolds number, the validity of this assumption for each of the three cases. 2. if the flow rate in the horizontal pipe is increased such that reynolds number re = 105 , calculate the pressure drop that would occur between the pipe’s inlet and outlet.
3. if after many years of operation at re = 10%, the pipe's inner surface becomes rough with an average roughness height = 0.2 mm, calculate the resulting pressure drop between the inlet and outlet.
4. for (2) and (3), express the pressure drop also in terms of the head loss.
