Apumped storage power plant is to be designed for a flow rate of
6,000 cfs per penstock. the penstocks are 20 ft. in diameter, with
a relative roughness of 0.008. the elevation difference between the
two reservoirs is 340 ft. the head loss has to be less than 2% of
the head available from the pump.
