Two tanks at different pressures are connected through a small-diameter passage which allows the fluid to flow from the high-pressure tank to the low-pressure one. the velocity of the fluid through the passage is to be investigated. this velocity vis a function of the passage diameter d, passage length h, fluid viscosity and the tanks pressure difference ap. the passage in the prototype has a diameter of 5 mm and a length of 18 cm. assume the model to have a diameter scale of 6 to l and to utilize the same fluid and pressure difference as in the prototype. (a) develop a set of dimensionless groups to investigate this problem. adopt the flt system for the dimensional analysis (b) determine the passage length that should be used in the model (c) if the velocity measured in the model is 4 m/s, determine the velocity in the real system

Amass of 1.5 kg of air at 120 kpa and 24°c is contained in a gas-tight, frictionless piston-cylinder device. the air is now compressed to a final pressure of 720 kpa. during the process, heat is transferred from the air such that the temperature inside the cylinder remains constant. calculate the boundary work input during this process.
