What does the debate between madison and jefferson tell us about the importance of compromise?

It tells us that they're able to discuss intellectual ideas. To debate these ideas and how will they be applied is incredibly important to the nature of their relationship. They also another big factor they tell us about it is very rare and  for two people to see "the same side" on issues in politics--making compromise absolutely essential if you want to get things done.
