In a system using Stop-and-Wait protocol link propagation velocity is 2x10^8 meters/s, length of link is 2000 meters, data rate is 100 Mb/s and Data Packet length is 100 bits. If receiver processing time is 0, and the ACK (acknowledgement) packet is negligibly small (length ~ 0), and the Retransmission Timer times out after 10 microseconds. Required:
a. Calculate the Total time for 2 packet transmissions if the first packet takes 2 transmissions to be correctly received, and the second packet takes 4 transmissions to be correctly received.
b. Sender Utilization is defined as the ratio of the time spent transmitting packets to the packet transmission cycle time. Calculate the Sender Utilization for the transmission of the second packet.
