NMAP is short for Network Mapper. As you can guess, it is used to map networks to identify what devices are running, discovering hosts and services that are available. It is also used to identify any open ports and security risks. In this exercise, you will conduct a simple scan and evaluate the output results. To complete this assignment, follow the instructions below:
NMAP Exercise
Open Nmap.
In the Target enter scanme. nmap. org
Select Regular Scan from the Profile drop down menu.
Click Scan.
Create a Word document and respond to the following prompts. Answers to each prompt must be a minimum of one paragraph.
Select a minimum of two of the displayed ports and what they are normally used for on a network.
