How to turn a banana into a PlayStation controlle? The US Patent and Trademark Office recently issued a bizarre request from Sony Interactive Entertainment for a patent for a system that converts ordinary household items and food into a PlayStation controller.
According to ISNA, the patent states: This system includes an actionable input unit to capture images of passive non-luminous objects held by a user as a video game controller.
In this patent, Sony uses banana peel to show the performance of the new system. Orange was another example used by the company to explain the system. For example, a PlayStation player can hold a banana or an orange in each hand as a control.
While the patent design shows a banana, Sony expects the system to work with everything from a cup of coffee to a piece of bread.
The system includes an object detector that depends on the player's hand position, which is recorded by the camera. This camera is installed with the aim of shining virtual buttons on selected objects so that pressing on an object is like pressing the game control button.
The patent states that the system will help users to take advantage of all the capabilities of the game, including several categories of games.
According to Business Insider, even though the patent has been registered, it does not mean that Sony is really implementing such a project. The patent only protects the system designed against competitors' use of this type of technology.

Show that there is a language a ⚆ {0, 1} â— with the following properties: 1. for all x â a, |x| ≤ 5. 2. no dfa with fewer than 9 states recognizes a. hint: you don’t have to define a explicitly; just show that it has to exist. count the number of languages satisfying (1) and the number of dfas satisfying (2), and argue that there aren’t enough dfas to recognize all those languages. to count the number of languages satisfying (1), think about writing down all the strings of length at most 5, and then to define such a language, you have to make a binary decision for each string about whether to include it in the language or not. how many ways are there to make these choices? to count the number of dfas satisfying (2), consider that a dfa behaves identically even if you rename all the states, so you can assume without loss of generality that any dfa with k states has the state set {q1, q2, . . , qk}. now think about how to count how many ways there are to choose the other four parts of the dfa.
