1.Naturalization act

The original Naturalization act of 1790 provided the initial rules to be followed by the U.S government in the granting of national citizenship. It was later repealed by Naturalization act of 1795 which extended the residence requirement from 2 to 5 years. It is the passing of the Naturalization act of 1798 that extended the residence requirement from 5 to 14 years.

The Judiciary act of 1789 purpose was to establish a federal court system that helped bring the United Stated Supreme court and the judicial branch of government into existence. This helped preserve Federalist principles. This act was made up of circuit courts, district courts, and the Supreme Court.

6.Sedition act.

Essentially, this act illegalized public opposition to the government. Hefty fines and imprisonment could be used against those who, “print, write, utter, or publish………….any false, scandalous, and malicious writing”, quote and quote, against the U.S government. It further took aim directly to those who spoke out against the federalist-dominated government.
