Internal memory is used in computer/tablet or in mobile phones to store data is used to run programs at start-up and to run various programs such as the operating system for example, windows in the computer, and launcher in mobile phones etc.

Internal memory is mostly built on a small microchip and or connected to a computer motherboard.

There are two types of internal memory: RAM and ROM.

Random Access Memory (RAM) which is used to store the data that is currently being used by the system. It read and rewrites data in the same amount of capacity and time. The rewrite function depends upon the location where the data is located. In this memory, the information is stored temporarily, as computers get switched off, all information in RAM will get lost.

Read-Only Memory (ROM) is a type of internal memory which reads only the data where no changes can be done in data. ROM store information in form of data permanently.
